Son of Samuel Cabot, Jr., brother of Edward Clarke Cabot. Graduated Harvard Law School, 1845. Practiced law with Francis E. Parker, 1847. Accompanied Agassiz on his tour of Lake Superior region in 1848 and upon his return published a narrative journal of the expedition. Worked as architect with E.C. Cabot, 1849-58 and 1862-65.
