Coupon bonds for the Western Lunatic Hospital, 1857-1877.

Pursuant to St 1857, c 282, amending St 1855, c 454, the state treasurer was authorized to issue scrip or certificates of debt to raise funds to aid in the construction of the Western Lunatic Hospital (i.e., State Lunatic Hospital at Northampton) and to destroy any such scrip previously issued. Coupon certificates issued 1859 and valued at $1,000 were due in 1868 and 1877 with interest paid at six percent per annum.
