Jefferson, Thomas, letters, 1779, 1792.

Two letters from Thomas Jefferson regarding relations between the United States and Spain. One letter, to Bernardo de Galvez, describes trade difficulties that prevent the United States from repaying debts owed to Spain (1779). The second letter, addressed to Carmichael and Short, reflects on growing concerns that the baron de Corondelet, the Spanish Governor of Louisiana, encouraged and assisted Native Americans in attacking the Uniter States (1792).
