Stock assessment records of the Troy and Greenfield Railroad Company, 1848-1855.

The treasurer of the Troy and Greenfield Railroad Company was responsible for managing its routine financial accounts throughout the construction of the Troy and Greenfield Railroad and the Hoosac Tunnel. This responsibility included selling stock to fund the project, and, as voted by stockholders, the levying of assessments for preliminary expenses on the subscribers to such stock.
