Autograph manuscript journal detailing a trip made by Jean Michel Moreau (known as Moreau le Jeune) to Italy beginning on August 31, 1785 in Turin, and continuing through Genoa, Piacenza, Parma, Bologna, Florence, Siena, Rome,then back through Turin, Milan, Bologna, Cento, Ferrara, ending in Venice on May 11, 1786. The journal contains detailed observations on architecture and paintings seen in these cities. Includes: one colored drawing of small groups of figures pasted on p. [i], signed J.M. Moreau le Jeune; one pencil drawing of a man with plough and oxen on p. [iii]; two small architectural drawings of St. Peter's on p. [iv]; further architectural sketches on pp. [v], 28, 33, and 86.
