The letters principally concern theology and the pastorate; those to Watts include Say's strictures on Hymns and Poems. With: ALS by Sarah Say Toms, Say's daughter, and several legal documents concerning Toms family properties.

Samuel Say, Dissenting minister and friend of Isaac Watts, with whom he was educated at Thomas Rowe's London Academy. He ministered from 1707 to 1725 at Lowestoft, Suffolk; became co-pastor with Samuel Baxter at Ipswich in 1725; and accepted the call to Long Ditch, Westminster, in 1734.
