Library of Ernest Cormier : records, 1980-1990.

1. Inventory of the books and periodicals in the salon-level library of Ernest Cormier's home at 1624 avenue des Pins, Montréal. Made in 1980 by Michel Lalonde of the CCA Archives. In ms., on cards annotated and filed to represent the order in which material was found on the shelves. Cards represent 1569 volumes. 2.(a) List of books and periodicals from the salon-level library selected for purchase in 1984 by the CCA. Photocopies, made from a selection of the above cards. Photocopies represent 570 volumes. (b) A small group of very sketchy Purchase Order cards made from this list. The books represented by these few cards were not found as of 30 October 1990 and were probably never received by the CCA. We have the periodical titles, but as of 30 October 1990 we have not checked to see which issues we have, and no online records have been created for periodicals. 3. List of books and periodicals in the office-level library of Ernest Cormier's home at 1624 Pine Avenue in Montreal. This list is probably not complete and there is uncertainty about when it was made (ca. 1981?) and by whom. The bulk of the material in the office-level library was purchased by the CCA in 1981. In ms., on cards annotated with codes which represent shelving locations. The cards represent about 2,000 volumes. 4. Photocopy on sheets of the above card file, representing bundles of cards as found. 5. Short-title list on sheets of office-level items, in groups representing original shelving locations in the Cormier house. Attached to sheets with box numbers assigned during the move from the house to the CCA. Listed in ms. by CCA Library staff in November 1989 prior to moving the collection from compact storage to a regular vault location. 6. Partial list of items remaining in the salon-level library in 1990. Made in 1990 by CCA Library staff. In ms., on cards which represent about 350 hardbound titles. No cards were made at this time for the additional ca. 1,220 paperbound titles still in the house, nor for the ca. 55 Michelin maps. Cards for the hardbound titles are arranged alphabetically by main entry. 7. File of CCA Library and CCA Archives documents concerning the Cormier Library.
