Catalog of the library at Sheffield Park, Sussex, belonging to the Earl of Sheffield, [ca. 1828].

Library, dispersed in several 19th and 20th century sales, containing many thousands of fine books, mostly history, including some of Edward Gibbon's own books (Gibbon was the Earl of Sheffield's friend and editor). Also includes a large amount of incunabula and manuscripts, all minutely catalogued, presumably by the librarian (unidentified). Some of the later additional slips are probably in the hand of Lady Sheffield. Vol. 3 of the catalog mentions Gibbon's posthumous Miscellaneous works, which Lord Sheffield edited.
