Correspondence with Henry Bergsen, other scholars, and museums about Oriental art and pottery, 1930-62; research notes, manuscripts, and articles, 1922-53; and many photographs of art works. There are also twenty-four photographs of the University of Munich after the bombing of July 13, 1944. Correspondence and manuscripts are in German and English.

Most of the records in the collection pertain to the $400,000 raised by the American Baptist Education Society in 1889-1890 in order to obtain a 600,000 grant from John D. Rockefeller for the creation of an endowment for the University of Chicago.
