ALS from G. W. Grayson to G. W. Hammer, a supporter of the Creek Nation in Washington, November 20, 1894. Grayson describes papers which originally accompanied his letter, including a message in English from the Creek Nation's chief. He mentions efforts to remove the Creek from their land, Creek resistance to displacement, and his own election as delegate for the Creek Nation. Printed circular dated May 16, 1897 from Hammer to Grayson.

George Washington Grayson served for several years as national treasurer and Washington delegate for the Creek Nation. He became associate editor of the Indian Journal in 1889 and was the appointed chief of the Creek Nation from 1917 until his death in 1920.
