Triomphe romain. 1889.

The etching depicts a Roman triumphal procession consisting of a column of soldiers, with chariot, advancing through a vast landscape to a monumental triumphal arch, attended by spectators. A fortified structure is visible in the distance. The the spectators on the left are done in drypoint and there are numerous drypoint reworkings in front of the horses and on the clothing of the marching men. The plate is signed in small letters, low to the left. This is the second state of the etching,
