The Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) succeeded the Massachusetts Council on the Arts and Humanities (MCAH) in promoting public and private activities in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences in the Commonwealth; and the Massachusetts Arts Lottery Commission (MALC) in distributing proceeds of the State Arts Lottery Council to regional and local arts councils. Series has been created by the MCC and the MCAH before it to develop and implement council programs.
