Explains his reasons for writing to the Public Ledger on his pacifist views toward Germany; expresses surprise at the reaction it produced but is willing to accept consequences of his action; included here are letters to the board of managers and faculty on the same subject offering to resign as associate professor of Biblical literature and Greek to save the college from embarrassment.
