Letters, 1881-1916.

Collection includes two letters to unnamed correspondents in which Sargent discusses the impending reproduction of his painting "Carmencita." In one letter Sargent mentions his esteem for the 19th century portraitist Thomas Graham, while in another, addressed to Charpentier (1881), he responds to an invitation to exhibit his work. Other letters are addressed to Edward Marsh and Sydney Cockerell, among others, and are generally personal in nature.
