Marriage contract : between François Louis Augustin, Marquis Desmoutier de Merinville and Hyacinthe Charlotte Julie Marie Jeanne de la Brisse Danilly : Versailles, 1785 Jan 30.

Bound autograph manuscript marriage contract in an unidentified hand accompanied by a blank wedding invitation form. The contract, which contains fourteen articles, is signed by Louis XVI, Marie Antoinette, and other members of the royal family who were witnesses to the marriage which took place at the Château de Versaille. Two official stamps in black ink appear on the rectos of the first four pages. The royal arms is stamped in gilt on front and back covers, a possible indication that this copy of the contract was kept in the royal library.
