Comolli writes to the Count, who is also the rector of the University of Turin, requesting permission to model the king, seeking retribution for having been passed over for a teaching position, providing details of his travels to Florence, Naples, Milan, Carrara, and the coast of Leghorn (where he describes the circumstances of a perilous sea voyage), and mentioning works in progress, among them his statue of "Peace."
