Letter : Philadelphia, to Calvin Terry, Enfield, 1835 June 4.

This detailed letter from Luther Terry to his brother in Connecticut describes his life in Philadelphia and work as a portrait painter there. Terry mentions the work he is doing on a portrait of the elderly widow of a former governor of New York, and that he obtained the commission because of the success of his portrait of a Mr. Whitman.
