Holograph manuscript of Strang's published work, Ancient and Modern Michilimackinac, Including an Account of the Controversy Between Mackinac and the Mormons (Saint James, Michigan: Cooper & Chidester, 1854), a history of the Mackinac Island, Michigan area, and Strang's experiences there as the leader of a Strangite community among hostile non-Mormons. The manuscript includes the majority of the writings which appear in the printed work with corrections and clippings of printed text attached to pages, and eight pages with corrections describing Beaver Island and Emmett County which were not included in the publication.
