The Massachusetts Correctional Institution, Framingham, houses females sentenced to imprisonment, awaiting trial, or committed by the courts for alcohol or substance abuse treatment (MGLA c 125, s 16; c 123, s 35). Under the supervision of the superintendent, the deputy superintendent for operations is responsible for ensuring prison security and for overseeing the physical plant, food services, and other inmate needs. Operating subject files are created by the deputy superintendent to formulate policy and to otherwise carry out responsibilities in these areas.
