Luis Alberto Sánchez (1900-1994) was chair of Peruvian and American Literatures at the National University of San Marcos [Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos] in Lima, Peru, and a prominent member of the Peruvian Aprista Party [Partido Aprista Peruana] from its founding in 1931.
