Joshua Hale letter, 1858.

This collection consists of a letter from Joshua and Eben Hale to Thomas and Josiah Hale, 1858, from along the Savannah River. The letter contains news of the shipment of cotton and its prices and changes in design for a new boat. A postscript by Eben Hale tells of hearing a sermon by the African American preacher, Reverend Andrew Marshall. Several people are mentioned in the letters.
