Drafts, typescript and carbon with manuscript corrections, of sections of a work published as Sun Chief: The Autobiography of a Hopi Indian, edited by Leo W. Simmons (New Haven: published for the Institute of Human Relations by Yale University Press, 1942). Titled "A Life History: The Autobiography of a Hopi Clan Chief," the drafts include most of the prefatory material and appendices and two versions of most chapters appearing in the published work. Some chapters are also represented by additional drafts. Manuscript corrections are in several unidentified hands.
