Collection includes personal letters addressed to Henry Roujon as well as letters received in his capacity as Directeur des Beaux-Arts, a position he assumed in 1891. Though there is some mention of artistic matters, the letters written by artists generally concern the business of the Academy, meetings, nominations and elections.
