The manuscript is a detailed listing, room by room, of the contents of the quarters occupied in the Palazzo della Signoria by the members of the Signoria: the gonfaloniere, the priori and their employees, such as the chancellery secretaries, the two monk custodians of the city sigil and the chapel, the guards, the pages, the cook, the barber and other servants. The objects include furniture, linens, house and table wares, vestments and ceremonial attire, books and documents, religious paintings, statues, tapestries, and various symbols of the government.
