Robert W. Burrell papers, 1931-1966.

Manuscripts, correspondence, annual reports, and notes dealing with entomological research in Yokohama, Japan (1932-1941); Yakima, Wash. (1946-1953); and at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La. (1953-1966). Burrell's research in Japan concerned the Japanese and Asiatic beetles, while his Washington research concerned the effects of DDT and other organic compounds on the parasites and predators of certain pests of fruit trees. Also included is a 9-page narrative account of Robert Burrell's internment by the Japanese between December 1941 and June 1942 and business cards and photographs from Japan between 1932 and 1941. The papers also include records of Burrell's service with the Army Service Forces during World War II.
