The Burnett family papers include bills of sale of slaves sold to Samuel C. Burnett of Saint Landry Parish, La. (1842, 1847); two pieces of private scrip issued by J.J. Mistrot and Company of New Iberia, La., and printed by L.T. Burnett (1862); one piece of Continental currency for eight dollars, printed by Hall and Sellers of Philadelphia, Pa. (1778); and an "extra" edition of the Richmond Enquirer giving the text of President Jefferson Davis' inaugural address delivered in Richmond, Va., Feb. 22, 1862.
