A collection of manuscripts including: 1) Pierre Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais's "Mariage de Figaro." Purported to be the stage copy used at the first production in 1784. 2) Marriage contract of the Comte de Gouvello and the Comtesse de Dampierre, 1788 March 16. Witnessed by Louis XVI, Marie Antoinette, and others of the royal house. 3) School exercises and copy work of the Comte de Chambord and his tutor. Also a child's sketch book, ca. 1830-33? 4)"Lys et Cypres," 1835. Dedicated to Henry V of France (Henri, Comte de Chambord, 1820-1883) and ascribed to his tutor. Poetry. 5) "Hommage de la Comte de Chambord" [cover title]. Volume of literary offerings by a group of students, 1859.
