Theodore Horatio Nevin McPherson family papers, 1859-1865.

Notebook containing diary entries (1861 Oct. 5-1862 May 19) made by McPherson during his Civil War service with the 107th Pennsylvania Regiment; and letters between McPherson and his mother, Elizabeth B. McPherson, and his brothers, Benjamin R. and George E. McPherson, both serving in the U.S. Navy, and John W. and Samuel D. McPherson. Written aboard the U.S.S. Norwich, Saint Johns River, Fla., and from camps in Virginia, the letters describe Civil War military life and fortification along the Potomac River, marches in Virginia, new recruits, morale, and shipboard duties. Also includes roster for guards at Camp Curtin, Pa.
