The Sun, August 1956.

Manuscript score by John Cage for an unrealized film dedicated to Richard Lippold. The manuscript consists of a notebook with twenty-two pages handwritten in pencil, and a paper bag with both sides handwritten in pencil. The notebook has two pages of instructions about the time-plan, thirteen pages of score or time-plan, six pages of miscellaneous calculations, and one page with I Ching hexagram notations. A handwritten list on both sides of the bag describes the sequence of edits and corresponding visual material. The bag is folded to fit within the notebook.
