Reginaldo Francisco del Valle (1854-1938) was the son of Ygnacio del Valle (1808-1880), who served as Alcalde of Los Angeles in 1850 and as a state assemblyman in 1852. Reginaldo grew up in Los Angeles and at the family home, Camulous Ranch, in Ventura County. He studied law, was elected to the state assembly (1879) and the state senate (1882), and was a director of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (1927-29).
