The centennial of the Physical Review and the Grinnell College physics department. 1993.

The author commemorates 1993 as the centennial of physics as a discipline, and describes the establishment and growth of the Physical Review, and the Physics Department at Grinnell College as an example of the discipline's development in small colleges throughout the early 20th century. He attributes much of the department's success to Frank F. Almy, Grinnell's first professor of physics.
