Notebooks and correspondence. The notebooks (12 items, 1914-1916) are microfilms of Davey's research notebooks while a physicist at General Electric, covering x-ray investigations of ion-packing and crystal structure, corrosion-resistant metal varnish, effects of x-rays on biological specimens, structures of organic compounds, fluorescent screens, investigations of conduction, insulation and the properties of dielectrics, rust-proofing and lubricating oils, and the growth of metallic crystals. The correspondence (ca. 80 items, 1927-1957, 1964) includes letters to and from Dan McLachlan on the subject of their co-authorship of two books on crystal structures and x-ray applications; the remainder of the correspondence contains letters between Davey and the American Zinc Company on research and personal matters.
