Letters, 1887-ca. 1910.

The collection comprises three letters of Georges Rochegrosse related to his artistic activity. One is addressed to M. Bernier; the others have no date and no identified correspondents. Also enclosed is a printed two-page biography of the artist. A printed biography illustrated with a print reproduction of the artist's portrait was detached from a book or review. It also includes the reproduction of a self-portrait dated 1894. The latest date in the text is 1896. A small newspaper clipping with biographical notice and photo of Rochegrosse is pasted on the top of the first leaf. The latest work mentioned is from 1923. On the verso of the second leaf is pasted a reproduction of Rochegrosse's painting "L'angoisse humaine", dated 1896.
