Includes: a metal drop-front file box with : medical manuals, primary surgical instruments, chemical analysis equipment, most labeled with Charles Butler's name or initials; other boxes of medical equipment; clinical and field manuals; printed vol.: "Catalogue of the Members of the Omega Club of the College of Physicians and Surgeons / New York / Issued March, 1914". MS.: ts. in paper binder, enclosed in envelope with broken wax sealings: "Historical Record of Evacuation Hospital No. 3" "compiled by Lieut. Charles T. Butler, M.C", circa 1919; glass negatives in black leather case [short inventory on yellow foolscap within] with ms. label on handle: "Box A / World War I glass negatives of hospital at Ris Orangis France / 1916 / Dr. Charles T. Butler"; 1921 CUP reprint of Samuel Bard, ""Two Discourses Dealing With Medical Education in Early New York" (delivered in 1769 and 1821, respectively; accompanied by letter from the office of Nicholas Murray Butler, President of Columbia University, to Mr. William Allen Butler); photo negatives and glass negatives now rehoused in labeled artefacts box; binder with printed materials and correspondence regarding Dr. Butler's invention of "a splint for the treatment and transportation of fractures of the lower extremities"; a printed, illustrated vol. of "obstetrical charts in colors"; various reprints on topics related to war surgery and epidemic treatments; a binder with reprints and manuals covering topics of interest to a war hospital surgeon; binder with ts. sheets apparently assembled as notes for the ms. of a book on Dr. Butler's experiences as a war surgeon: contains descriptions, anecdotes, diagrams, letters, all with ms. notations, dates and topical headings; a leather-bound diary kept in Dr. Butler's hand, 1918. Oversize album of World War I photos and memorabilia, principally from France.
