Diary entries from May 11 - September 12, 1935 document life in pre-war Nazi Germany one year prior to Huelsenbeck's departure for the United States. Contains 186 pages of entries written in German, French, and English which document the effects of anti-semitism and incidents involving Jewish and Catholic citizens. Also enclosed is a newspaper clipping, "Racial disgrace in Germany" dated July 15th.
