Letters to Anselmo Costadoni, 1749.

Bertoli shares with Father Costadoni his delight and observations garnered from reading the lives of the saints, particularly Saints Cliodoro and Teomisto. Bertoli also writes that he is engrossed in reading the life of Abbot Giovanni Franceschi, whose brother attended the seminary in Murano with him. Finally, Bertoli thanks Father Costadoni for the flattering mention of his work in recent scholarly papers, one of which deals with the imagery of squills which Bertoli goes on to discuss in detail, citing relevant passages in Juvenal's Satires.
