Collection includes materials assembled by the translator of Grosz's autobiography, manuscripts and related correspondence, as well as letters sent by Grosz to Herbert Bittner, Bernard and Rebecca Reis, Frans Masereel, and others; some letters are illustrated. Subject matter includes discussion of Grosz's involvement in German politics in the 1920s, his difficulty selling his pictures, and the situation in Germany which culminated in Grosz's flight to the United States.

George Grosz was a German-born artist.
