The Sarah Goodwin Brown Collection contains typescripts of biographical sketches of John Francis Coleman, a New Orleans, La., engineer; an invitation to the Atlanteans' Carnival ball in New Orleans in 1895; a photograph of and concert program (1869) for Silliman Female Collegiate Institute in Clinton, La.; funeral notices and obituaries of Clinton residents, including an obituary for former members of the Sisters of Olive Lodge No. 52 (1856-1927); letters regarding Thomas Montgomery, who was associated with the West Feliciana Railroad and the Clinton & Port Hudson Railway (1840-1851); and letters pertaining to Augustin B. Payne, Superintendent of Public Schools of Baton Rouge, La., and a Confederate soldier (1860, 1864).
