A typescript report compiled by architect Gutschow detailing the planned reconstruction of Hamburg after the destruction of World War II. An introduction by the architect explains that the plans were compiled after 12 meetings of the architectural firms involved in the reconstruction effort. The notebooks were meant for internal use to assist the construction workers and make them aware of the total project. Each volume begins with a table of contents. Topics covered include a general plan, population growth, city divisions, statistics on the War's destruction, traffic patterns, bus and trolley routes, water and waste disposal, types of apartment buildings and social housing, politics and laws of rebuilding, utilization of the rubble, industrial zones, the railroad station, and workers and workplaces. Inserted in each of the volumes are photographs and numerous foldouts of ground plans, maps, facades, and graphs.
