Oral history interview with Robert J. Pressley, 1985 May 30.

Pressley was Director of Research and Development from 1971, and then Vice-President for Research, and Corporate Vice-President of Holobeam, a firm founded in 1968, which manufactured commercial lasers. Pressley touches on his prior work at Radio Corporation of America. He discusses the founding of Holobeam, the production of Nd:YAG lasers, work on custom-built units, and Holobeam's standardized resistance trimmers. Pressley also provides a little information on the research atmosphere at Holobeam, and on the company's financial fortunes.

Spencer R. Weart, born in 1942, received a B.A. in Physics at Cornell University in 1963 and a Ph. D. in Physics and Astrophysics at the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 1968.
