John Constable letters, 1825-1836.

Eight letters to various recipients. There are two letters to William Hookham Carpenter, dated December 1835; the other undated. The letter of December 1835 is printed (with some minor errors) in C.R. Leslie's Memoirs of the Life of John Constable (London, 1937). A letter to Archdeacon John Fisher, dated November 26, 1825, mentions a new picture of Salisbury. Other recipients include Dominic Colnaghi, John Dunthorne, Henry William Pickersgill, John E. Smith, and E. L. Williams.
