The Kenneth E. Cook Jr. collection consists of official papers and photographs regarding his service in the United States (U.S.) Army during the Korean War. The official papers include a certificate of acceptability declaring Cook acceptable for induction into the military; a state of Indiana veterans bonus application; correspondence from the local draft board; maneuver rules for Exercise Long Horn; a battle rehearsal held at Fort Hood, Texas, in March of 1952; and a Selective Service System notice of classification card. The photographs cover his time in Korea, in Montgomery, Alabama, and at Troy State Teacher's College in Alabama.

Corporal (CPL) Kenneth E. Cook Jr. joined the U.S. Army on 15 February 1951. Cook was sent to Korea as a member of the 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division.
