Adolph Heinrich Joseph Sutro, originator of the Sutro Tunnel in Nevada and well-known figure in San Francisco, born of Jewish parents in 1830 at Aix-la-Chapelle in Germany, left school at sixteen, but continued his education by reading voraciously. W.R. H. Adamson was named one of the executors of the will of Adolph Sutro who passed away in 1898. This notebook is Mr. Adamson's "diary" recounting some of the activities that he did on behalf of the will.
