Correspondence concerning: Lord Beaverbrook's autobiography of his early years in New Brunswick to be published in installments over the first seven issues of the Atlantic Advocate; the success in sales of the first edition of the magazine; the purchase of paintings for the art gallery in Fredericton (Gainsborough's Lt. Col. Nugent, Stubbs' Hunters Out at Grass, and Sisley's Cote d'Angleterre); transcription of an article about Lord Beaverbrook written by Woodrow Wyatt, and appearing in Harper's magazine; the children of Fredericton raise funds for a statue of Lord Beaverbrook (Vincent Apap is commissioned as sculptor); Beaverbrook's recollections of his early relations with Izaak Walton Killam; O.D. Michael Wardell joined the Beaverbrook newspapers in London in 1926 after a career in the military. With the outbreak of the Second World War he rejoined the army and finally retired with the rank of Brigadier in 1946. He returned to Fleet Street and eventually became vice-chairman to the Beaverbrook organization. In 1950 he came to Fredericton and bought the Daily Gleaner.
