Reward (Brig) logbook, 1802-1804.

The logbook of the ship Reward details a voyage from Salem, MA to Calcutta back to Salem (Dec 1802-Dec 1803). Last page is a partial log of a trip from the Vineyard towards New York (Jan 1804). The master was William P. Orne; logbook keeper was Orne. It is a daily log describing wind, weather, and location as well as sightings of ships, fish, or birds. Includes a daily listing of activities while at anchor in Calcutta. Spoke the ship Charles (out of Boston). Mentions flogging ship's cook for striking the Chief Officer and a man falling overboard and disappearing.
