Miscellaneous material collected by Mass Observation on the effects of wartime and post-war changes in the British economy. Reactions to wartime national budgets and their effects on taxation, income and sales are included, together with papers concerning the financial press, the devaluation of the pound in 1949 and the general postwar economic situation. Studies of rents in unfurnished accommodation (1950) and living on fixed incomes (1947) provide information on contemporary home economics.
