[Record of housekeeping and clothesmaking activities]. 1854-1855.

Activities recorded date from Christmas Day 1854 through the third week of March 1855. In summary form, a typical entry reads: "Feb ... 2nd week. Washed and ironed, mended brethrens clothes and made pickle for sale." Other activities were carding and spinning tow, lining mittens, washing clothes, making boys caps, and making clothes. Washing and ironing were the two most frequently mentioned activities. There is no indication of a Shaker community or the name of the sister performing the duties.
