Manuscript details year-by-year the sort of work performed by the Shaker sisters at the New Lebanon, New York, community. For example, in 1836, the amount of stock for bonnets is listed; they sold 1886 bonnets and over 200 hats that year. Among the items made in 1856 were 720 pin cushions, 13 chair mats, 165 feather fans, 915 sets of table mats, and 112 work stands. The sisters also covered 17 children's benches and cleaned 48 loads of roots that year. The sisters sold food items as well, such as applesauce and pickles. Expenses incurred by the sisters are also recorded; not all, however, have to do with their activities in production. There are no entries for 1837-1838.
