She writes, "These old writings, long among my mother's papers, probably had belonged to her mother, Mrs. Hannah Elizabeth Pettingill Dolbee, (d. of Somers Pettingill) born at Bath, Me. 9/18 - 1820; d. 3/28 '99, Alton, Ill."
