Greek vase-painters, etc. Jan. 1953.

Supplemental course material prepared by Arthur Dale Trendall for the use of students in the Department of Greek and Archaeology at the University of Sydney (revised, January 1953). The typescript provides an introduction to the general bibliography on Greek vase-painting and an index to Griechische Vasenmalerei (1909). The main part of the outline surveys Attic black-figure, red-figure, white lekythoi, South Italian and Hellenistic pottery, listing individual vases by painter, shape, and current museum location. The section on white lekythoi includes an index to the painters of white lekythoi in W. Riezler, Weissgrundige attische Lekythen nach Adolf Furtwänglers Auswahl (1914). Three appendices provide notes on Greek monumental painting, Roman wall-painting, and ancient glass.
